Cat toilet training has long been a suggestion for keeping cats disciplined in terms of peeing and pooping. For the past few years, toilet training pets has become prominent among most pet owners. Many cat owners prefer to toilet train their cats to get rid of stinky pet urine smell and complete removal of cat litter from their homes.
Cat toilet training is done gradually as it is not easy to offer pets any other option for peeing and pooping. However, the steps in toilet training cats are simple. You only have to be persistent in making your pet get used to the idea you are offering them. It is advisable not to force the steps to your cat or it would be traumatic for your pet. You have to take each step at a slow pace until your pet is ready to use its space in your bathroom.
The first step to toilet train your cat is to purchase a pet toilet seat. The toilet seat can help you in making your cat accustomed to use the toilet. On the other hand, the toilet seat should not be used at once as this may cause confusion to the pet. You have to avoid the possibility that your cat might use other areas in your home that you prefer untouched. Using the toilet seat right away might even cause the pet to go under beds, behind couches, or in corners if they get uncomfortable using the toilet seat.
The best thing to do is let your cat know how to use the toilet first. Put your cat's litter box near the bathroom or inside the toilet so that the pet would get used to being in the area. You can also make use of the cat toilet seat and place it inside the bathroom as an introduction for your cat toilet training. Once your cat is accustomed to using the cat toilet seat, you would no longer need a litter box and get rid of litter box problems altogether. More so, you can get rid of the odor that your pet leaves in the litter boxes.
